Houston Action Research Team (HART)
For the past three years, I have worked with the Center for Civic Leadership mentoring groups of undergraduate research teams as they work on a research project brought to them by a community partner. Partners for previous projects with which I have worked include: Mi Familia Vota, Hermann Park Conservancy, Undies for Everyone, Houston Public Libraries, and Houston Arboretum and Nature Center
Center for Academic Professional Communication (CAPC)
I am a writing consultant for the CAPC. I work one-on-one with students helping to improve their writing on term papers, essays, and research papers. I also work with groups and individuals with oral and visual presentations.
Mi Familia Vota (MFV)
I have worked frequently with Mi Familia Vota through the HART program. Through the HART program, I coached undergraduate students in developing civic engagement curricula for use in high school and college student government courses and training programs. Additionally, I have also worked with MFV on research projects with community clinics, gauging staff and patient interest in voter registration and mobilization efforts.
